Middle School
Ages 11 to 14 years
The Middle School program is designed to support the academic and social needs of children during a vibrant and important time in their lives. Through a challenging curriculum and other activities, students become self-reliant, capable young people.
The Middle School curriculum is divided into five six-week units, each focusing on one theme that integrates the humanities and science. Math is taught in three different groups so students can work at a level that reflects their individual experience and knowledge. Students also take classes in Spanish, Latin, technology, life skills, art, music, and physical education.
Plays, competitive sports, musical groups, community service projects, and partnerships with children in the lower grades all provide meaningful social interaction for Middle School students.
The eighth and final year prepares students for high school through long-term independent study, internships, leadership responsibilities, and involvement in the outside community.
