8th gradeinternships

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7 — FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10

It’s Internship week! WMS students are required to complete one-week internships in the fall of their 8th grade year so that they may begin to pursue real-life work that is meaningful to them. The program allows our students to apply what they’ve learned about themselves—individually and as members of a community—to the world around them, in a very tangible way.

Our 8th Graders will be working in a wide range of businesses this year.  They include the following:

the New Milford Spectrum
Roxbury Animal Clinic
a machinist
the Kent Early Learning Center
Aspetuck Animal Hospital
“Sporting Kansas City”
a non-profit group that assists refugees
an upholstery and design business
Cabot Cheese/Agrimark
an Accountant
Dragon’s Breath Forge in Wolcott
a Public Library
Gilmore Glass in Millerton
the White Memorial Foundation
a communications and marketing company
the Carey Center for Ecosystem Studies
the Litchfield Montessori School
