Five Elements of a WMS Education

Five characteristics distinguish the Washington Montessori School experience:

Personalized education. Our teachers adapt the classroom environment, the program, or both to better meet the individual needs of each child.

Collaborative community. Classrooms include mixed-age groupings, so students can progress at their own pace, develop ongoing relationships with teachers and peers, and become role models to and learn from their fellow students.

Character development. WMS teachers strive to give each student a sense of membership in, and responsibility to, society – to instill personal accountability and strong values.

Dedicated teachers. Our teachers are our greatest asset; they are guides and catalysts who foster students’ hands-on learning whenever possible.

Challenging academics. Our rigorous and well-rounded program is designed to help students build skills and develop a passion for learning. Classroom materials and projects appeal to the imagination, inspiring students to pursue their passions and venture beyond basic requirements.
