For our students who are interested in furthering their athletic endeavors, WMS offers a variety of elective after-school enrichment classes designed to inspire and complement students interests. MAP (Montessori After-school Program) Enrichment classes typically meet once a week for 8-10 weeks. (For more information on MAP, contact Ellen Hadad at ehadad@washingtonmontessori.org) Past MAP offerings dedicated to sports include:

Soccer.
Students practice soccer fundamentals considering skill levels and experience.

Tennis.
Students practice tennis fundamentals considering skill levels and experience.

Rock Climbing.
Held in the gymnasium on our indoor rock wall, students learn important climbing fundamentals and safety.

Fencing.
This course is run in partnership with Candlewood Fencing and teaches students fencing basics such as footwork and stances.

Akido.
Held in partnership with Litchfield Hills Aikikai, this course teaches students the Japanese martial art of Akido as well as other Japanese traditions like haiku and origami.

Winter Mix.
Students stay active with a variety of indoor/outdoor activities including snowshoeing, sledding, rollerblading and biking.
