Welcome New Staff

WMS would like to welcome the new staff members to our community.

Cecilia Garcia-Blasquez

Lower, Elementary, and Middle School 6^th Spanish Teacher

Cecilia is a native of Peru who attended a bilingual school there as a child.  She graduated from college in Peru and received an MBA from the University of Texas.  While in Texas she taught Spanish in an elementary school.  She recently moved to New Milford and was recommended to us by the head of the local Literacy Volunteers

 

Myrna Kenausis

Lower School Co-Teacher (with Beth Rickart)

Myrna comes to us from Frasier-Woods School in Newtown, a Montessori school, where she has been an early childhood head teacher for ten years. She lives in Middlebury and has two college age children. Myrna and Pat Werner have known each other for several years and Pat jumped at the opportunity to have Myrna join the WMS staff.

 

Lynn  Marlowe

Lower Elementary Assistant to Martha Readyoff

Lynn recently moved here from New York state where her older son Jacob attended a Montessori school.  She found WMS when she searched for a school here in Connecticut to continue Montessori education for her two sons. She has a MSW and a background in social work and is looking forward to becoming more immersed in Montessori education.

 

Mollie Gutierrez

Upper Elementary Assistant to Amy Yarbrough

Mollie lives in Sherman and has a six year old son, and was recommended to us by another WMS staff member.  Mollie has a degree in molecular biology and is eager to become involved in the Upper Elementary program.

 

Maricarmen Salcedo

Lower Elementary Assistant to Stacey Gardner

Maricarmen is a native of Peru who lives in New Milford.  She is taking college courses in education, so this position in teaching appealed to her.  She and Stacey will be integrating Spanish into their classroom program.
