Minutes from January 2010 PA Meeting
*Puppet Shows: Have begun, 2 shows take place every Saturday morning; please attend and enjoy a morning of unique entertainment with your children. All ages welcome! We encourage families to bring friends that are not currently attending WMS--shows are open to the community. Enjoy!*Skating Party: Gunnery Rink, Monday Jan 18, 10-12--hope to see you there. Free refreshments!Hosted by the PA.
*Auction: "Designing for Education" is scheduled for April 24th. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed; please contact Stacey Matthews to volunteer for a variety of tasks.
The PA is hoping that each and every family will either obtain a donation and/or make one. The current focus is on sporting events and trips--please consider donating to these goals, as these have proven to be "hot sellers"!
If you can volunteer for helping on the Acquisitions team, please attend a meeting Wed. 8:45 am Jan 20 in the PA room, or contact WMS Parent Theresa Brannelly. There is a goal to compelte acquiring donations 3-4 weeks before auction date; a new auction pay system will be used this year for the first time, and extra time is needed to train users.
Auction volunteers are also needed specifically for advertising efforts; please contact WMS parent and PA co-president Susie Berg to help.
The Auction catalog this year will list only "super-silent" and Live items; many smaller silent items will not be listed so as to reduce printing costs.
Parents can expect donation ideas to appear intermittently on the large TV screen in the front hall; please take note and contact Stacey Matthews for more ideas as needed.
*WMS Cafe: All profits go directly to the school. PLease contact Susie Berg or Roberta Hawley if you would like to volunteer as Cafe Crew. A variety of hot, organic coffees are served each morning from 8 to 9 am; take home bags of whole beans or ground coffees are also available for purchase. Thanks to our daily patrons, and please spread the word!
