The annual Science Fair is an important part of the 6th and 7th grade science curriculum. It marks the culmination of a 10-week academic unit focused on using the scientific method. (Ask a Question, Research, Construct a Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment, Analyze Data, Draw a Conclusion and Communicate Results) Students chose a topic that interests them and spend the unit researching it. Science fair topics this year included: How does changing the materials transferring sound affect the sound at various frequencies? What kind of precautions will protect the contents of your house from an earthquake? Which citrus fruit contains the most electrolytes? Which type of truss bridge holds the most weight?
