We gathered as a school for a presentation by the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence, which promotes a comprehensive framework for conflict reconciliation and coalition building rooted in the philosophy and practices of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr and the Civil Rights Movement.
After the assembly, Middle School students took part in a day of community services. While some Advisor Groups left campus to work within the community, others hosted a lunch for local seniors. Students interviewed their guests on their life experiences, and are working on an oral history project.
