TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10
Our Upper Elementary students spent the morning at The Pratt Nature Center. They learned how to “Put Red Fred in the Shed” and use a compass properly. Their knowledge was then put to use on two separate courses: one beginner and one advanced course. The students were divided up into six groups and given a map with a sheet of coordinates to follow. Each new arrival point gave the group a letter, which they recorded. The letters spelled out a word for each team. This was a great exercise in group cooperation and eventually everyone ended up back to the start position.
