Is there a better way to spend a dreary day in February than to contemplate the vastness of time and space? If there is, we sure can’t think of it.
Our 6th & 7th graders began their study of astronomy with a special visit from Michael Paolucci and Dr. Paige Godfrey, both of Slooh. Students were introduced to the tools that will allow them for the next several weeks to explore the universe in real time, which is “pretty cool” according to our students. “A picture of the sun in a book always looks the same,” said one boy. “But when you look through the solar telescope you can see that it is changing all the time.” Another student is looking forward to exploring the universe on her own in addition to what she is learning in class.
