THURSDAY, 11.14.19 AT 6:15 PM
Our 7th grade students have officially embarked on the Hero’s Journey and are in the process of moving away from the dependency of childhood into the increasing responsibility of adolescence toward full-fledged adulthood. It is an incredibly significant transition for these students, and, as such, for their parents as well. With this in mind, the Hero’s Journey includes helping parents connect with and support each other regarding the joys and challenges of raising adolescent children.
Jessica Adams, LCSW will facilitate our initial gathering, a potluck and discussion on November 14 at 6:15 p.m. in the MS Commons. Jessica is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist who has a private practice in New Milford and specializes in working with adolescents and their families.
Seventh grade families are invited to join us for a potluck (bring your favorite dish and serving utensil. We will supply beverages, plates, and cutlery) and discussion on November 14 at 6:15 pm in the MS Commons. Children are welcome to join parents for the potluck and then can head downstairs at 7 pm. Childcare will be provided for younger siblings in the MAP room and our 7th-grade students who need a space to be can join a WMS staff member in the library for a study hall. Please RSVP here for your family so that we can plan accordingly.
