Middle School tennis and track & field begin today and will continue to meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through May 27.
In an effort to maintain the health and safety of our community during the pandemic, this year’s spring sports programs have been developed based on the CDC’s recommendations for low-risk activities. Sports this season will be strictly in-house programs focused on fitness and skill-building with some opportunities for in-team competition (without spectators).
At WMS, we welcome all experience levels in sports. This is a wonderful and supportive environment for students to try new sports as well as to improve their current skills. Any player who joins our teams has an opportunity to be part of a team, work on individual development, and experience team play. We believe team commitment is to be taken seriously. We also recognize the challenges that come with balancing sports and academics. Students who are unable to keep up with their academic work while participating in sports will have a meeting with their advisor and parents to make a plan to best move forward. Communication is important to us and we expect players to communicate with coaches directly regarding conflicts that arise.
