Why Give?

For more than 50 years, members of the WMS community have made generous contributions to ensure an exceptional education for our students. Each year, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, alumni, faculty & staff, students, and friends choose to include Washington Montessori School among their charitable priorities. We are grateful to each and every one of you for your commitment to the WMS Annual Fund and to the mission of our school.

As is true for all independent schools, tuition and fees do not fully cover our operating costs. The Annual Fund makes up that difference (on average, 10% of our budget) and supports every aspect of the WMS experience. Your gift, regardless of size, ensures that we raise the necessary additional funding to support our programs, faculty and facilities. Your participation is your vote of confidence in the school you’ve chosen to invest in for your child’s future, just as families before you have done.

Annual Fund gifts may range from $10 to more than $10,000. Please note that all gifts are 100% tax deductible and may be paid all at once — or monthly, quarterly, or on any other schedule that works best for you during our fiscal year (July 1-June 30). For example, a pledge of $1,000 might be paid in 10 monthly installments of $100.
