Morning MAP Drop-Off Procedure

YCC & LS MORNING MAP
7:45-8 AM DROPOFF AT FRONT ENTRANCE

  • Pull into circle, place car in park, put on face masks and unlock doors.
  • A familiar WMS staff member wearing a mask will come to the child’s door to take his or her temperature. (We urge you to do temperature checks before heading to school, so as to avoid an unnecessary trip if your child is not well. Please do not treat your child with aspirin or acetaminophen in the morning as these medications can mask a fever.)
    • If their temperature is above 100 degrees, they can remain in the car and be retested in 5 minutes.
    • If their temperature is at or below 100 degrees, the teacher will help them unbuckle, gather belongings and exit the car.
  • Say your goodbyes. It is normal for children to experience difficulty separating from their parents (and vice versa) at the beginning of the year. Our advice is:
    • Together with your child, establish a goodbye routine before your first drop-off
    • Follow through with goodbye as planned and let the teacher guide your child from the car.
    • Drive away calmly. It is our experience that children tend to recover quickly, and we are prepared to send reassuring emails as soon as possible to let you know how your child is doing after a rough separation.
  • Students will sanitize their hands. Automatic sanitizer stations are located at the front entrance.
  • Students will wait together in an assigned area in the front of the school with a staff member until 8 a.m.
  • At 8 a.m., the MAP teacher will accompany YCC & LS students around the building to the Lower School playground. (Please note, it is essential to arrive promptly as there will not be a teacher to greet your child past 8 a.m. and you will have to wait until the 8:30 drop off.)
  • Students will be brought to their classroom’s outside door at approximately 8:50 a.m.
