The Washington Montessori School in New Preston is excited to announce its 12th Annual Puppetry Festival presented by Copes Waste Solutions and the Casey Family.
This year’s festival will feature shows on the first three Saturdays in February at 10:30 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8 each. (Children under 2 are free.)
“The puppetry festival is a beloved event here at WMS. We always have tremendous performers, great shows and a fantastic audience,” said Jill Skilton, Director of Communications at Washington Montessori School. “The shows have proven to be a fun and easy way for parents to spend some cold, winter mornings with active children.” Each show is about an hour long and includes a ‘meet-and-greet’ with the puppets and performers. After each performance, children and their parents are invited to play in the WMS gymnasium.
The season will begin Saturday, February 3 with a 10:30 a.m. performance by Nappy’s Puppets. “Sing-A-Long” is a hilarious shadow puppet presentation of classic kids tunes like “Five Little Monkey’s Jumpin’ on the Bed” and “The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.” The festival continues on Saturday, February 10 with a marionette show called “Sea Story” by Charlotte Dore of Rosalita’s Puppets. On Saturday, February 17, Crabgrass Puppets will perform a brand new show called “The Three Little Pigs Build a Better House.”
