Track Meet with The Sherman School
After two fast meets against some very competitive teams, it was a nice mental and physical break to head up to The Sherman School for a laid-back and friendly meet. The meet was held on Sherman’s equivalent to “Pat’s Track,” a winding half-mile track that encircles the campus. The meet started with the mile, usually we have two or three runners in this event, today the team found a spark of fire and courage and more than half the team lined up for the longest event in track! The girls event was won by Stella and the boys event was won by Edward. Next up, the 100 meter sprints. The rolling course had a super-fast and fun downhill finish. WMS came out on top in the boys and girls sprints with Edward taking the top step and Julia squeaking out the win by only 1/100th of a second! The shotput was the only field event contested today. Our polar bears showed their strength with soaring throws by Will and Piper to take the wins in the boys and girls events. The meet ended with the 4 x 200m co-ed relay. The relays all went great! We fielded four co-ed teams. The Sherman relay teams had strength and depth but our speedy veterans took the top spot to round out a fun meet. We are looking forward to hosting Sherman at home on the 21st. We hope you all can make it!
