2019 Spring Enrichment


WEDNESDAYS, 3.27–5.15 FROM 11:45 AM TO 2 PM
Students will be dismissed from their classrooms at 11:45 a.m. and go to the MAP room for lunch. At 12:30 p.m. they will join artist and WMS parent Kaitlin Clark for an exciting hour and a half of “Adventures in Art Inspired by Nature!” Students will explore the outdoors looking for artistic inspiration. Throughout the 8-week session students will connect to the natural world through mindfulness, sketchbook sketchbook time, as well as experiencing a variety of art media and materials. Each week students will bring home the unique artworks they created! Cost is $225 (Includes Materials)

WEDNESDAYS, 4.3–4.24 FROM 11:45 AM TO 2 PM
Students will be dismissed from their classrooms at 11:45 a.m. and go to the MAP room for lunch. At 12:30 p.m. they will Join WMS past parent and past staff Terry Hawley in the kitchen to learn basic cooking skills and safety.  Students will take home their culinary creations to share with their families each week. Cost is $210 (Includes Materials)


WEDNESDAYS, 4.3–4.24 FROM 11:45 AM TO 1:30 PM
Students will be dismissed from their classrooms at 11:45 a.m. and go to the MAP room for lunch. At 12:30 p.m. they will join Emily Kent of Pilobolus who will lead an exploration of rhythm, shape and play through movement. Children will have fun creating, discovering and sharing ideas while developing new skills of collaboration and group work.  This class will build kinesthetic awareness and develop self-confidence. Cost is $115



TUESDAYS, 4.2 – 5.14 FROM 3:15-5:00
Coach Heidi Diedrich will lead a 7-week soccer clinic focused on the introduction and mastery of age-appropriate ball skills in a fun learning environment. The program will progress through a series of engaging and straightforward drills designed to offer young athletes a love for the game, self-confidence, and a desire to come back for the next session!  Cost is $215.00


WEDNESDAYS, 4.3–5.15 FROM 3:15 TO 5 PM
Fort building, a perennial MAP favorite, is back this spring. Will Talbot will lead students in exploring the woods of our campus and will encourage them to use their imaginations to create a wilderness escape. Cost is $175


THIS COURSE IS AT FULL ENROLLMENT
FRIDAYS, 4.5–5.17 FROM 3:15–4:45 PM
David Mwanza, who has been teaching and coaching juniors and adults for sixteen years, will be teaching our Spring Junior Tennis Development Program. Players will be practicing stroke shapes, techniques for strokes, ball control while improving skills and having fun!
(No class on Grandparents day) Cost is $210


THIS COURSE IS AT FULL ENROLLMENT
THURSDAYS, 4.4–5.2 FROM 3:30 TO 4:45 PM
Students will use their hands and minds (no computers!) to explore the engineering design process. This course will challenge students to accomplish tasks (such as building a boat) using specific materials (like paper and tape) to fulfill specific goals (to float while carrying a penny).   Students will discuss different types of engineering fields and what it means to be an engineer. Students will have the option to work alone or in pairs. (No class on 4.18) (This course needs a minimum of eight students to run.) Cost is $175
